A Message From Our Alumni Chair

Brothers,

I am writing to give you an update and preview of our alumni program for the fall semester. Our new council is excited to continue improving our relationship with alumni. With this is mind, we had a great showing at Reunion Weekend. The Class of 2013 came in full force, and we enjoyed confirming some of Dennis' most outlandish stories and eating great food at our BBQ. This was followed up by a strong showing at Convention, as Sammy Beta brought home yet another Founder’s cup! I want to give a special congratulations to Jack Robbins and Dennis, as our chapter was awarded individual recognition for Vice Prior, Chapter Advisor, and Alumni Chair of the year. I also want to thank Randy Barbarash and Matt Sloan for helping make the weekend smooth.

In the upcoming months we have three big events that will for our alumni. First, we are planning the second Sammy Professional Day and Reunion in NYC. We really enjoyed connecting with many of our alumni at the inaugural event last year and appreciated their experience and guidance in making important career choices. As well, I was personally pleased to see alumni reconnect with old friends. We have tentatively scheduled this year’s Professional Day for Saturday, October 6th. Please RSVP whether you can make it or not to via this google poll (https://goo.gl/forms/zpVy1D37DZDFtLW93) or reach out to me at ats89@cornell.edu.

Second, Cornell Homecoming will take place September 21st - 22nd. This weekend is a great way to celebrate with the Sammy community, as well as reconnect with your Cornell experience. In addition to events hosted by Cornell, we will be hosting our Alumni Tailgate Barbecue before the Cornell vs. Yale football game on Saturday afternoon. If you are interested in attending the Tailgate please contact me at ats89@cornell.edu

Third, the AD White Greek Leadership Summit will take place on October 12th -14th. This summit puts our Alumni Board and Chapter Officers in contact with all the major players in the Cornell Greek world. In addition, Dennis is more serious than ever about taking a step back from operations. This means that we need Alumni to show up and contribute. Our goal is to raise 3,000 dollars to cover the expenses for attending alumni. By contributing toward our goal, you can seriously strengthen our campus relations and take responsibility off Dennis' shoulders. To help out this initiative click the link https://www.alumnirecords.org/sammybeta/ and donate in just two clicks. If you are interested in attending the summit or helping/joining the Alumni board please reach out to Randy Barbarash, Alumni Board Chairman, at rbarb233@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from many of you.

Fast and Firm,

Adam Schulman

Alumni Chair
